VIOLENCE
JULIA GAT: ANDRO
"ANDRO" is a visual research on the androgynous body.
Androgyny is the combination of masculine and feminine
characteristics into an ambiguous form. It may be related to
biological sex, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual
identity, and the different meanings of androgyny point to the
complex interrelationship between aspects of sex, gender, and
sexuality. Here, the focus is on body expression and style. and specifically on the
word 'Andro' (meaning male), it sheds light on the
androgynous boy, researching the blurred lines of gender
expression and the abstraction of the human body.
